I just got the news that Atlus's parent company Index Corporation is being bought out by Sega Sammy. [1][2]
In Ohga Shrugs, I suspect that this would translate to Atlus being acquired by Namco Sammy, meaning Atlus's franchises and developers would become part of the Namco empire, much like how Hudson becomes part of Nintendo.
What would the results of this be like? How would Namco, with their emphasis on Fighting games, treat Atlus's properties, which are largely RPG's? Is the Tales series an indicator of how Namco would treat the Megaten games? Should Sammy even be the one to buy Atlus in the Ohga Shrugs timeline?
